Hi, my name is Rick Cowan. At the age of sixteen I attended church for the first time. It was during this visit that I heard a Pastor preach about Jesus Christ and what his death on the cross meant for us. God worked through the preaching and impressed upon me my need for a Saviour.
Following the service the Pastor spoke to me personally and guided me as I prayed and asked Jesus Christ to become my Saviour and Lord.
My surrender to Jesus Christ was not accompanied by any emotional experience, but it certainly made an immediate and distinct change in my life. From that night forward I have had a sincere desire to read and study the word of God. A couple of years after I was saved, God called me to preach.
I have since served at Calvary Baptist Church in varying capacities. Beginning in the Bus Ministry, to Sunday School, to Children’s Pastor, to Youth Pastor, and now in my present role as an Assistant Pastor and Small Groups director.
Part of my responsibilities as our Small Groups director is the preparation of our curriculum. This curriculum is represented by the PDF Bible studies found on this site.
It is my hope that these studies can be help to you as you endeavour to become more like Christ.
